What we buy

Gaming first. Select collectibles too.

Retro or modern, boxed or unboxed, a few favourites or years of collecting. Send us what you have and we’ll tell you if it’s a fit for Clyde Retro.

Games

PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Sega and other retro or modern platforms, from everyday bundles to harder-to-find titles.

Consoles & accessories

Consoles, handhelds, controllers, memory cards, boxed systems and selected accessories, tested where possible.

Selected collectibles

Gaming memorabilia, WWE collectibles, comics and selected retro electronics where condition and demand make sense.

Family run

It started with buying and selling for our own kids.

That showed us how difficult it can be to know what games are really worth. Clyde Retro grew from that experience, with honest valuations, fair pricing and good games finding new homes.

How we value

Not every old game is rare. We value properly.

Age is only one part of the story. We look at the item, condition, completeness and the real current market.

Exact itemEdition, platform and model can make a real difference.
ConditionDiscs, cases, manuals, boxes and hardware condition all matter.
Current marketWe consider genuine recent sales and present demand, not just optimistic asking prices.
Resale realityOur offer also reflects the work, risk and costs involved in testing and reselling items.
Questions

Before you send anything.

A few of the things people naturally want to know before asking for a valuation.

What do you buy?

Our main focus is retro and modern video games, consoles, handhelds and accessories. We also consider selected gaming-related collectibles, WWE items, comics and retro electronics.

Do I need to list every game?

No. For most enquiries, clear photos are enough to start. If we need a closer picture of particular titles or model numbers, we’ll ask.

Do I have to accept the offer?

No. Asking for a valuation does not commit you to selling anything.

Do you collect?

Yes. Glasgow and surrounding areas are our normal collection area, and for suitable purchases we’re also happy to travel further afield.

Do you buy newer games as well as retro?

Yes. Clyde Retro considers both modern and retro gaming. Value depends on the specific items, condition and current demand.

What about faulty consoles?

You can still send them over. Tell us what the fault is if you know. Whether we can make an offer will depend on the console and the issue.

How do you work out an offer?

We consider the item, condition, completeness, current demand and recent comparable sold prices, alongside the costs and risk involved in preparing items for resale.

Ready when you are

Got a box of games sitting about?

Take a few photos and send them over. That’s enough to start.
